Can I provide more than two references?

We know that sometimes you might have more than two references that you would like to submit as part of your application. 

You should only provide the number of academic/professional references specified in the list of supporting documents for your course,  which is usually two (and a personal reference if applying for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship.)

Our system will not allow you to submit more than two references and we are unable to make any exceptions. 

If, however, you have exceptional circumstances that you think require additional references, you may contact the department that runs the course you are applying to directly and ask if they would be willing to consider receiving them. If the department agrees, the additional reference should be sent directly to the department.
