Details regarding the language requirements for admission to the University of Cambridge, and what tests are accepted, can be found on our webpages:
https://www.postgraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/international/competence-english
Please note that we do not waive the requirement to provide evidence of your language ability under any circumstances and we will not be able to respond to requests for a waiver under most circumstances.
For most programmes, we do not require you to provide us with a language test at application stage. If you are successful in obtaining a conditional offer, we will set you an appropriate language condition and a timescale on when to meet the condition.
Please note that applicants for the LLM or MCL MUST provide a language certificate at the point of application for their application to be considered, please see the course directory for further details & department contact details.
If you have completed an approved language test, you should upload a copy of the score report or test certificate via your applicant portal. We verify these results using online verification services.
Upload a PDF scan of your test reports ensuring the following information is included:
IELTS - Test Report Form (TRF) number - The scores for each element.
TOEFL - Registration Number - Date of birth - The scores for each element.
Please also note we do not accept test reports sent to us directly from TOEFL or IELTS.
The test report and results must be uploaded by the applicant and we verify these results using the TOEFL/IELTS verification service.
