If you are experiencing difficulties with online payment, below are some of the reasons why payments fail or why you may struggle to finalise a payment.
1. If there is a bracket '(,)' in your address when you fill in your payment details, the payment will fail. You must remove the brackets and try again. Furthermore, characters like colons, semi-colons or slashes are also unrecognised.
2. You must pay with a Visa or Mastercard and payments must be made in £/GBP.
3. Payments will not be able to be made if you are using Internet Explorer as your browser. You will need to use Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, etc. Please try clearing the cache and then try again to submit your application.
4. It is important to input the exact billing address and telephone number which is registered with your card issuer when using our payment systems. Using your college's address will make the payment fail.
5. Don't leave it to the last minute as the system might be overloaded and you may not be able to pay on time and before the deadline you are applying to.
6. Make sure you are paying with an accepted car type. Our system can only accept Visa and MasterCard cards.
Most applicants are able to make a successful payment after a few attempts (if you are submitting your application during a busy time, or if the bank’s payment process is having difficulties, more than one attempt is sometimes required).
It may also be worth checking with your bank - perhaps the payment has gone through already.
If you wish, you may also request a friend or family member to pay online using their card details. Please note that non-UK applicants must use a credit card or a UK debit card to make this payment.
