The University minimum entry requirement for Postgraduate study is a UK Bachelor’s Degree with good Upper Second Class Honours, or the international equivalent.
Some courses will have higher entry requirements – a higher grade, a Master’s degree, or a background in a specific field – and this is at the discretion of the department. Please check the individual course entry requirement in the online prospectus:http://www.postgraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/courses.
If you have already achieved a Pass grade in a UK equivalent Master's degree then this will surpass the University minimum entry requirement.
A number of international equivalencies are published by our office on our website www.postgraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/international-students/international-qualifications - hopefully these will give you a rough idea of the equivalency of your qualifications. Unfortunately, we are unable to assess or comment on individual's qualifications or profile at this point.
Where your academic qualifications don’t quite fit the specific entry requirements of this programme (i.e. course length or subject studied), please contact the department to which you will be applying. With a high level of competition for certain programmes, they can advise whether they may consider non-standard qualifications in the first instance. In the case that they do recommend applying, departments will assess each academic record on a case by case basis, taking into consideration, for example, the length of your studies, UK ENIC assessments and advice from our office.
Contact details for individual departments can be found in the course entry:http://www.postgraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/courses. Each course has a “Key Information” sidebar on the right-hand side of all its pages. Within that there is an “Enquiries” link.
We welcome applications from all over the world, and all applications will be given due consideration by the Department/Faculty to which you apply.
